Our work

In the broad field of psychopathology, psychoanalysis holds a particular place by considering the subject as primarily a speaking being steeped in language.

Sometimes we experience distressing thoughts, disarming feelings of anger or powerlessness. Sometimes we just don't understand why we do the things we do. Our frustrations feel overwhelming, our anxiety takes the better of us...

Putting these feelings into words and exploring them with a professional can lead us to consider our experience with a little more hindsight and get to the root of the problem. We realise that there might be more to the stories we have always told ourselves and that have consistently shaped our reality.

With the help of an analyst's careful and respectful ear, we can discover an unexpected sense of freedom. New possibilities emerge. We allow ourselves to be surprised and become more available to everything life has to offer.

Your first session

The first time we meet, we'll start by evaluating the nature of your difficulties and understanding your immediate needs.

We will then discuss the most adapted approach, taking into account your specific situation:

- a short-term treatment, with several therapy sessions to help you face more immediate concerns or issues;

- a deeper, more analytic approach to explore your difficulties, get a better sense of your position in the world, of your unconscious determinisms with a view to reconnecting you with your desire and your life drive.

Therapy sessions can be conducted in French or in English.

I am also familiar with German, Italian, Spanish and Mandarine.

My background

My background

Julien Alliot - Psychothérapeute Paris 14 Denfert-Rochereau.png

In 2011, I started following various seminars at the Association Lacanienne Internationale (International Lacanian Association) in Paris. In 2014, I began training as a psychoanalyst at the Association's "Collège pour les psychanalystes en formation," while participating in patient presentations at several hospitals. After completing a PhD in British literature (2016) and a Master's in Psychoanalysis (2018), I trained for two extra years at the École Pratique des Hautes Études en Psychopathologie to become a psychotherapist (a regulated title in France).

My clinical experience includes work in a psychiatric ward for mentally ill adults and in a Medico-Psychological Center for teenagers and young adults in Paris. I also trained at the Chesnaie psychiatric clinic in the Loire Valley, which spearheaded the "institutional psychotherapy" movement in France.

I still publish articles (in French and in English), follow seminars at the Lacanian Association and regularly present my research there.
